The University of Poznań opened a modern laboratory.  Inside is equipment worth one million euros

It was created at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology of the University of Life Sciences.

This is a laboratory of innovative manufacturing techniques. – It is a modern educational and research space, equipped with the latest wood processing technologies available on the market. This pioneering project will enable students, researchers and entrepreneurs to gain unique experience in the field of machine tools, programming and industrial digitalization – Informed by the University of Life Sciences in Poznań.

The cost of the equipment in the laboratory is approximately one million euros. – The factory is equipped with the latest machines, devices and tools necessary to process wood and wood materials from the world leaders in their production. The machines at LITO are characterized by a high degree of automation, numerical control and adaptation to the latest digitalization standards related to Industry 4.0. The equipment includes, among others: a five-axis digitally controlled centre, an automatic cross-optimizer, a four-side planer, a digitally controlled narrow surface gluer and a machining center equipped with a six-axis industrial robot. It may seem complicated, but it is state-of-the-art equipment that not only meets current technical requirements, but is also ready to meet future industry challenges – He adds.

The facility will be used by students, also as part of research work in engineering or master's theses. But external companies will also appear here as part of training, testing and development of innovative solutions.
