Sunday trade is thriving despite the ban. Inspectors are powerless

To be clear: current regulations allow businesses to be conducted on seven Sundays a year, including the lead-up to Christmas and specific months – in 2024, which are June and August. Despite the current ban, many stores remain open to customers.

According to poznascihandlowe.pl data, 18 percent of Masovian ports were inspected last year, and trade was conducted in violation of regulations. Surprisingly, 89 percent of entrepreneurs were not looking for formal ways to do business legally on Sundays. The violations of the regulations did not concern large retail chains, but rather small stores.
