More like a multi-million dollar contract for an important Polish chemical investment

Mostostal Zabrze Realacje Przemysłowe is close to signing a contract with Air Liquide Global E_C Solutions Poland for the supply and assembly of steel structures for the construction of a new butadiene extraction facility. The installation in Płock is being built at the Synthos factory.

On December 19, 2023, Mostostal Zabrze Realacje Przemysłowe, a company of the Mostostal Zabrze Group, signed a letter of intent with Air Liquide Global E_C Solutions Poland confirming the selection of the offer from MZRP to perform works including delivery and assembly of steel structures and installation of equipment.

The work will be carried out as part of Air Liquide’s project to build a new butadiene recovery facility.

The value of the MZRP offer is approximately PLN 42 million net. The company indicates that the total final wage will be calculated based on the work actually completed, which is determined based on building measurements and unit prices.

As stated, the Letter of Intent forms the basis for the parties’ cooperation in implementing the project until the conclusion of an appropriate implementation agreement. Under the letter of intent, the two parties agreed to conduct further negotiations with the aim of concluding this agreement.

Let us remember that in September 2021, Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions Poland entered into an agreement with Synthos Group to build a butadiene extraction facility in the city of Buk.

As reported at the time, it is scheduled to be released in 2024.

Ultimately, the installation aims to achieve a capacity of 120,000. tons annually.

Carbon dioxide emissions are a major problem for many high-emitting industries, such as the cement, fertilizer, steel and refining industries.

– Taking into account the continuous development of the Synthos Group and others: in the synthetic rubber and latex sectors, the establishment of a new butadiene extraction facility will be another very important step towards securing the company’s raw materials. This, in turn, will allow us to strengthen Synthos Group’s strategic position as a supplier of semi-finished products to manufacturers operating in Central and Eastern Europe, Synthos informed.

Butadiene is mainly used in the production of organic chemicals such as polybutadiene plastics, styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) resins, styrene butadiene rubber, and adiponitrile, as well as many other products.

Owners and heads of Polish companies that have been present on the global scene for years want to jointly open foreign markets for business from Poland.
