Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Xtreme WaterForce – Water-cooled overhead motherboard

As you probably know, the Gigabyte offering includes a full line of Intel Z690 motherboards. Recently, the manufacturer presented another model that should be of interest to enthusiasts who build an efficient computer with water cooling.

I’m talking about the Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Xtreme WaterForce board, which is based on the build of the regular Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Xtreme model (i.e. the manufacturer’s top view).

The WaterForce version is equipped with a monoblock that effectively removes heat from the main elements on the motherboard: the processor, the power section, the chipset, M.2 SSDs, the 10G LAN system. The manufacturer has integrated temperature sensors and protection against coolant leakage here.

It is worth noting that the block has an LCD screen that tells about the parameters of the computer, and everything is decorated with an RGB LED backlight. Everything fits perfectly into the covers on the motherboard – such a motherboard will surely attract the attention of fans of computer mods.

Advanced motherboard – Aorus Xtreme WaterForce with functionality

The board supports 12th generation Intel Core (Alder Lake-S) processors for the LGA 1700 socket and dual-channel DDR5 memory clusters up to 6600MHz. Attention is drawn to the powerful power section (20 + 1 + 2 phases), which will allow for more powerful overclocking of the device.

On the extended plate (E-ATX), the manufacturer made available a rich selection of ports – among others, two PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slots (x16 / – and x8 / x8), as well as four M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots for NVMe drives Ultra-fast SSD and six regular SATA slots.

The back panel is tightly stuffed with connectors – the manufacturer provided, among other things, ten USB 3.2 ports, a 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 4 connector and audio jacks for a sound card with a DAC. Two standard network cards are responsible for the connection: 10G LAN, 2.5G LAN and Wireless Wi-Fi 6E.

The Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Xtreme WaterForce model is one of the best motherboards for the new Intel processors – the manufacturer has provided a rich selection of ports and a powerful power section, and everything is complemented by a monoblock that allows you to connect a water cooling circuit.

However, we should not expect a low price for such equipment – the album appeared in one of the Australian stores, where its price was 2999 Australian dollars (at the current exchange rate, it corresponds to about 9000 PLN!). The WaterForce Edition will be available in a limited quantity of 200.
