8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard C64 Edition – a new mechanical keyboard based on the best-selling Commodore 64

8BitDo introduced a new version of the mechanical keyboard, this time inspired by the old Commodore 64 computer. This device first appeared in 1982 and over time became the best-selling computer in history. It's no wonder that products like it are now being created. The flagship version of the keyboard not only offers an interesting look but also comes with additional accessories.

Retro devices are back in popularity today, as evidenced by subsequent products based on them. The 8BitDo brand decided to add another version of the mechanical keyboard, whose visual style refers to the Commodore 64.

8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard – TKL format mechanical keyboard that will appeal to fans of retro consoles

Some time ago, the company in question presented a version that was supposed to resemble the Nintendo Entertainment System console. It's time to introduce the next version, which differs in appearance, but its design and functionality have not changed. We can still rely on the Kailh Box Switch V2 White switches, which are easily replaceable, and unfortunately the keyboard is once again missing a numeric keypad. However, we can use physical knobs and programmable buttons.

8BitDo N30 – a wireless mouse modeled after the NES controller

Additionally, the device can be connected to others via radio, Bluetooth, or USB Type-C cable. Expected wireless playback time is up to 200 hours. The kit includes two oversized buttons (as before) and a new joystick called the Super Stick (connected to 3.5 mm audio jacks, of which there are four in the design). It is worth noting that the keys are made of ABS, printed using double-shot technology (much better durability – including corrosion resistance). The bad news is that it's only scheduled to ship in September 2024, and pre-sale will start at the end of May. The price with extras is set at $109.99. Offer available At this address.
