Flood in Germany.  The entire city was evacuated

Floods and flooding caused by torrential rains took hold in many parts of Germany on Monday. Heavy rains caused water levels to rise, and emergency services battling the effects of the floods warned that the difficult situation could continue for several days.

The city of Windehausen in the Nordhausen district of Thuringia, central Germany, was completely submerged. Its residents were evacuated from their homes.

Thuringia Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow wrote on the internet platform X (formerly Twitter). “Electricity and sanitation are not working,” he stated in another post.

He also added, The sports hall can accommodate about 400 residents. According to the director of the fire brigade in the Nordhausen district, Daniel Kunze, the water level in this area reaches 70 cm.
