The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) intensively analyzes the situation on the heat pump market. It has been noted that many of the violations occurring are closely related to the constant interest of consumers in this type of heating – wrote “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”.
Since the beginning of this year, the Competition and Consumer Protection Bureau has received many complaints regarding heat pumps. Over the past few years, we have noticed a continuing increase in interest in these devices. In addition, consumers have the opportunity to benefit from financial support to purchase these devices.

Poland is a leader in the development of the EU-wide heat pump market – according to the latest report by Zero Carbon Analytics. During the past year, our country recorded the largest increase in sales of these devices compared to other European countries.
As the office informed “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”, complaints submitted to the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection mainly concern companies that sell or install heat pumps. This information is alarming because it indicates potential problems related to the functioning of this market.
Appliances imported from China pose a serious problem. Often, at full capacity, its performance is insufficient and its energy consumption is high.
– Some devices do not actually meet the technical standards indicated on the product label and energy label and are of poor quality. In the case of heat pumps, these parameters can be determined on the basis of the importer’s declaration, that is, without providing proof in the form of testing in an authorized laboratory – commented Pawel Mirowski, Deputy Head of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in October.
According to the Chamber of Commerce for Renewable Energy Equipment, buyers of heat pumps currently have difficulty distinguishing between a high-quality heat pump produced by a Polish company in the country and a Chinese pump that may not meet the requirements.
