“My son Mikowai bought a wheelchair, and we first had to carry Jadwiga to the car door, then put her on the seat. The whole procedure was very humiliating, difficult and painful. (…) Mikowai and I were gripped with fear of what would happen next. And it kept getting worse. The hip fracture caused partial paralysis of the right leg and constant pain, which was overcome by vigorous means. On the third day, Jadzia said, “God has given me so much that everything else must be accepted with humility.”.
