Puppeteer Nicole Lapointe is no more

Nicole Lapointe and her lifelong friend, Micheline Legendre, are in the group of puppeteer Micheline Legendre in Quebec. Pierre Regimbald was stabbed to death in July 2004. The duo first brought some of their toys to the small screen. FanfrelucheA children’s series that aired between 1968 and 1971 on Radio-Canada Television.

Nicole Lapointe and Pierre Régimbald then gave life – and their name – Nick and PeekTwo mice travel around the world in a hot air balloon.

Puppets Grand-Papa Pi, Bruno, Canelle and Ricotan are supported by Guydan Claude, Pierre Régimbald and Nicole Lapointe.

It is, however, a co-creator of puppets Primary key Nicole Lapointe really made herself known. “An exceptional artist, he gives the children and adults of Quebec the memory of his wonderful creations and their wonderful world. His dolls, which he called his children, remain the most real and precious characters in our children’s heads,” we read in his obituary.

Nicole Lapointe’s funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 18 at the Saint-Viateur Church in Outremont.
