D’Arcy Redsky is the cult figure of the Smashing Pumpkins

The Smashing Pumpkins were the lead group of the 90s, with D’Arcy as the bass player.

Born on May 1, 1968, D’Arcy grew up in Michigan. She starts learning the violin under her mother’s supervision.

She usually sings in a choir. Two of his sisters were the women who appeared on the famous cover of the 1993 single Today. After completing her college studies, she became serious about playing the bass.

With a group of friends, he travels around France for a few months giving small concerts. Back in America, she passes through Chicago and decides not to return to Michigan.

The attraction to the city is immediate. He moved there with his sister and worked various odd jobs as a waiter in local bars.

At the Avalon Nightclub in Chicago, he meets Billy Corgan, singer and founder of the Smashing Pumpkins.

The first words exchanged between them were very complete, the beginning of a long painful story.

Between two drinks, Corgan slips to D’Arcy that he’s looking for a bass player for his band and leaves her his number. D’Arcy calls Billie back and she auditions. Confident! D’Arcy joins the Redsky trio.

The band first played together on August 10, 1988 at the Avalon Nightclub.
