Belarus: Russia donated the Tor battery

The Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced the receipt of a batch of anti-aircraft missile systems Tor-M2Kprovided by Russia. The announcement stated that the delivery took place under an intergovernmental agreement.

“The complexes will be handed over in the coming days to military formations and units in accordance with their intended purpose. The personnel have already been trained,” the ministry wrote in a statement.

As the Belarusian Hagon points out, Lukashenko’s system received its first Tor clusters in 2011. In 2017, the unit that supports this device was reactivated. The 1146th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment deals with security, among other things Belarusian nuclear power plant in Ostrovik.

The systems delivered in December are the sixth of the Tor batteries in the Belarusian Armed Forces.

The Tor system variant received by Belarus is equipped with a new radar, modern electronics and software, and the operation of the set is fully automated. The system is used to destroy air targets at a short distance. Not only planes and helicopters, but Tor can also destroy missiles and drones.
