The return of Shia LaBeouf? He will play the role of young Padre Pio in the movie Abel Ferrara
Abel Ferrara (“Siberia”) believes in giving a second, third, and fourth chance. While all of Hollywood has turned its back on Shia LaBeouf, he wants to give him the lead role in his next project. He told Variety portal reporters about it.

LaBeouf played young Padre Pugh before he became a famous stain who was a saint in his life to many. The events will take place immediately after the First World War in Apulia. Ferrara will also be shooting there.

If all goes well, filming will begin in October. The cast will likely include Willem Dafoe, who is a frequent contributor to Ferrara.

At the end of the second decade of the twenty-first century, Shia LaBeouf seemed to be on a rising tide with controversy and scandal. He had many appreciated roles (including in the movie “Sweetie”). He could even have joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Problems arose at the end of 2020. First, Olivia Wilde kicked him out of her movie “Don’t Worry Baby” because of his rude behaviour. In December, his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit against the actor. She accused him of sexual and psychological violence, assault and bullying. In February, LaBeouf announced that he would be taking a break from acting and focusing on treatment.
