Zinc sarcophagi were found at a rubbish dump in Belgorod in western Russia, near the border with Ukraine, where Russian soldiers who died in the war were taken, BAZA portal reported. According to local reports, several coffins with icons and sacks were thrown into a garage on a street at the same time. “People, to put it mildly, were shocked when they went out to take out the trash and saw the zinc coffins,” she wrote.

Belgorod residents reported to the police that the funeral home workers were throwing zinc coffins in the regular trash. As Bazza emphasized, the bodies of soldiers who died in the war are brought in such coffins.

Al-Qaeda wrote that the coffins were left by a local funeral home. The coffins remained there for several days.
