“Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois sure gave a good performance when talking about the context, he spoke above all to young people, so 18 to 34 year olds. For QS, how to get votes is an electoral, participatory issue. According to the latest Léger poll, QS scored two points on Thursday , and certainly not among those aged 55 and over,” believes Philippe Léger, a columnist for the Journal de Montréal.

Québec solidaire is not the only party that appeals to this segment of the population: Quebec’s Conservative Party is also trying to appeal to young people with elections in mind, for example.

“It is certain that the youth seeking Duhaim are the youth with the vote to challenge the establishment. “Eric Duhaime as a politician represents this challenge to the system, in particular, due to the epidemic measures of the Legault government,” he explained.

Face to face, independence was discussed. Is this an issue that still appeals to 18- to 34-year-olds?

“When we look at different statistics, the youth is the least sovereign segment of the population. However, there will always be a core of youth who believe in it. Yesterday, face to face PSPP showed itself to be honest, very honest and coming to politics for the right reasons. Its main cause is freedom. Of course, Such a speech could bring some young people back to the Parti Québécois,” the columnist thinks.
