Since this year, they have had the opportunity to compete in the youth version of the Speedway of Nations, the World Championship for slag pairs, in exactly the same format as the Polish national team that will compete for gold on Saturday and Sunday with Bartosz . Poland’s Speedway of Nations 2 (U-21) features current Junior World Champion Jakob Mikowiak, this year’s first round winner Mateusz Cerniak, as well as 17-year-old Wiktor. The great Czechs in the duo Jan Kves-Peter Chlobak took second place in the final after the play-off, defeating Great Britain 6:3.
In the Grand Final, the Poles were the favourites, but as is known, anything can happen in a single slug race. And this could frustrate their plans, because Jacob Mikoviak was leading four points from start to finish line, there was no shortage of feelings behind his back.
Unexpectedly, after the first curve, Kvech and Chlupac took second and third, and Cernyak closed the stake, which meant a Czech win with a 5:4 ratio and an exciting world championship for our southern neighbours. But Cerniak had a lot of luck, because on lap three pressing Chlupac he either made a mistake or had a temporary equipment problem. Motoru rider Lublin took full advantage of that, beating the opponent and it was the Poles who won the final 6:3, winning the world championship.
On Saturday and Sunday, the adult Biau-Cheronić team consisting of Bartosz Smárzlyk – Patrik Dodek – Maciej Janowski will compete in the two-day final in Denmark’s Fuence. The competition starts at 19:00.
