Six out of ten poles have a phone that costs less than 1,000 PLN. Are you in this group? As we read on Wirtualne Media, yesterday the research agency Kantar Public presented the results of a study conducted in April for digital care on smartphone use in Poland. Among them, we can find interesting conclusions, such as the fact that 86% of Poles have Android in their “cells”. It also turns out that 82% of us replace the phone every two years or less frequently, and 40% would like to replace it every 1.5 years, or even more than that. The study from which the above conclusions were drawn (and below) was conducted from 1 to 9 April 2022 on subjects between the ages of 18 and 60 years. Although the sample was not large (1000 people), it should be sufficient to estimate the shape of consumers’ ‘cellular’ habits.

What are other interesting things from studying? For example, 72% of respondents use one phone every day, and 28% use ‘more devices’. Additionally, more than half of the respondents have at least two other unused phones at home. When it comes to accessories we pair with smartphones, 58% of cases are wireless headphones, 40% are wireless speakers, and 38% are smartwatches.

It is also interesting that 56% of respondents use phones / smartphones worth 1000 PLN, and only 9% of respondents – from devices more expensive than 2000 PLN. However, compared to 2019, we are using newer and more valuable “cells”. And when we replace a mobile device, the most common reason is that it failed (44% of respondents), then destroyed it (36%) and got an attractive purchase offer (31%).
