“We were able to continue the show because Chris handled the moment with elegance and balance,” Will Packer told ABC Television.

After the slap, the comedian was soon chained and presented with the trophy for best documentary as expected. He then wanted to persuade, but refused to file a complaint against him saying that the police were ready to arrest him for Will Smith’s gesture.

“It allowed us to continue the show we wanted to do,” Will Packer said.

This is a joke told by Chris Rock about Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair, suffering from a significant hair loss disease and provoking scandal on Sunday evening.

Will Smith suddenly took to the stage and slapped Chris Rock under the dumb eyes of celebrities and spectators.

The 53-year-old artist was rewarded shortly after the Oscars for Best Actor for his role in “The Williams Method”.

The Academy of Oscars has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Will Smith and promised to ask him to leave the room after the slap, but the actor refused.

Will Packer explained to ABC that after talking to Chris Rock he suggested that Will Smith not be deported.

“I immediately went to see the leaders of the academy there and I said: + Chris Rock did not like it. I said: + Rock is very clear that he does not want to make the situation worse + ”, said the producer.

According to him, Chris Rock refused to allow the police to arrest Will Smith and did not file a complaint against him.

Will Smith publicly apologized to Chris Rock and the Oscar Academy, saying his behavior was “unacceptable and unforgivable.”

Chris Rock spoke on the subject for the first time on Wednesday evening, shortly after arriving on stage for a show in Boston.

“I’m still digesting what happened. So at some point I’m going to talk about these things. And it’s going to be serious and fun,” he said.
