Germany: Poland and Switzerland are at risk of infection with the Corona virus

dpa news agency reported that due to the large number of coronavirus cases, the federal government has been classifying Poland and Switzerland as high-risk areas since Sunday.

This was announced by the Robert Koch Institute on Friday.

Anyone entering Germany from a high-risk area who has not been vaccinated or fully recovered must undergo a ten-day quarantine, who can be released after a negative test no later than five days after entry.

There were no high-risk areas associated with coronavirus in the European Union in late summer. However, in recent weeks, several member states have been returned to the risk list, including Germany’s neighboring countries – the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria, with the exception of individual municipalities.

Countries and regions with a high risk of infection are categorized as high risk areas. However, it is not only the number of infections that is the determining factor. Other criteria include the speed with which the virus is spreading, the burden on the health care system, and even the lack of data on the state of the epidemic.
