Both units will be equipped with 4 performance cores that support up to 8 threads simultaneously. Although there is still a little more than a month until the premiere, the first performance tests of the Core i3-12100, the lowest in the hierarchy, have already appeared on the net. I must admit that it is really good compared to the AMD Ryzen 3 3300X. If the final versions look better, AMD’s decision to offer cheaper Renoir-X systems shouldn’t be surprising if the company wants to keep competing in the lower price range.

The processor also kept temperatures relatively low in tests, but in the AIDA64 FPU benchmarking, the new Core i3-12100 pulled a little more out of the socket than AMD suggested. However, at a reasonable price, 12th-generation Core i3 chips can be attractive processors.
