note

Marina Gusinica-Daniel will not be well remembered for her performance in the Alpine World Cup supergiant in Kvitfjell. I took a far stand.

Super-G isn’t Maryna Gąsienica-Daniel’s strongest point and we caught it on Friday, during World Cup competition in Kvitfjell, Norway. A total of 42 riders completed the ride, with the Polish representative finishing 36th in this group.

The winner was Cornelia Hetter, who recently won a bronze medal at the Alpine World Championships. This time she was second to none, as she crossed the finish line in a time of 1:26.83. Gąsienica-Daniel lost nearly three seconds to the winner.

The competition to win was very fierce. Elena Cortoni, who placed second on Friday, was one hundredth of a second worse. Lara Jot Behrami stood on the lowest step of the podium (0.12 behind Huetter).

Right behind the podium was the leader of the World Cup general classification – Michaela Shiffrin. She lost to the Austrian by 0.16 seconds.

Super-G results in Kvitfjell:

1. Cornelia Huter (Austria) 1:26.83
2. Elena Cortoni (Italy), loss 0.01
3. Lara Gut Bahrami (Switzerland), 0.12
4. Michaela Shifrin (USA), 0.16
