Two explosions were heard on Friday morning in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, the Ukrainian news agency Interfax reported, cited by Reuters. As reported by the deputy of the Supreme Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Goncharenko, it was the voice of the Ukrainian air defense that shot down a Russian plane.

The Belarusian website Nexta reported that the plane crashed in a residential area. So far, no one has confirmed this information. It is also unknown what type of machine was shot down and whether it was a manned aircraft.
Reuters noted similar sounds were heard the day before when Russian maneuverable missiles struck a military base in Brovary near Kiev on Thursday, killing six people.
