The first match of the Mangarians in the current version of the struggle ended with a huge surprise, not to mention a huge fanfare. On home soil they defeated the English, winning 1-0. With the Italians tied with Germany (1-1), they also became the top of the group. In the duel with the “Azzurri” they were condemned to swallow, but on the other hand – everyone they did a few days ago had in the back of their heads.
The first minutes were – as expected – pressure from the Italians, but they had problems creating a clear position for themselves. The drastically changed squad played very aggressively. In the sixth minute, Spinazzola received a good cross, but the Hungarian defenders coped with his game.
The guests created their first serious chance in the tenth minute. Szoboszlai cross from a corner kick and one of his teammates almost hit the ball from the sixteenth. Moments later they took a free kick about 20 meters from the goal. But Shoboszlai hit the wall.
In the 17th minute, Junonto tried to shoot but … missed the ball. Three minutes later, the Hungarians saved Debus, who intervened brilliantly after a Mancini shot.
Italy took the lead in the 30th minute. Parilla’s pass from the left flank in front of the penalty area and confidently shot it at the far post. Moments ago, Sly fired a dangerous shot at Donnarumma’s goal.
In the 43rd minute it could and should have been 2:0. Pellegrini was in a perfect position, but instead of hitting, he decided to pass to Gonto. This, however, was a defender.
What failed next came in the 45th minute. Pellegrini confidently hit the ball, which, having been played by Politano from the right side of the field, made a “empty pass” and fell under his feet.
The second part of the game started similarly to the first – with the benefit of the Italians, whose attacks, however, were a bit quieter. Quite unexpectedly, in the 52nd minute, Adam Salai had the perfect opportunity after a cross from the right. The speed increased, and in the next action … the Hungarians were rescued by the crossbar.
The guests finally scored a touch goal in the 60th minute. He scored a suicide after a very unfortunate intervention by Mancini. We didn’t see any other targets.
