New Zealand resident Andrew Bagshaw and Christopher Barry, from Truro, Cornwall, traveled to Ukraine to provide humanitarian support. The two young men, aged 48 and 28, went missing on January 7. The day before they arrived from Kramatorsk to Solidar.

The Russian mercenary group Wagner later reported that the body of one of them had been found. However, he did not indicate which men he was referring to. Barry’s family has now announced the news of their deaths.
