Orlen lowers fuel prices before the weekend in May

The head of PKN Orlen, Daniel Opajtec, announced that before the May weekend, the concern was to reduce fuel prices at the stations – petrol by 0.8 zlotys and diesel by 0.12 zlotys.

Other Trade Sundays fall in 2023 June 25th, August 27th, December 17th, and December 24th.

The law introducing the progressive Sunday trading ban came into force on March 1, 2018. From 2020, the trading ban will only apply on the seven Sundays of the year: the last Sundays of January, April, June and August, as well as on the Sunday before Easter and Sunday. The following Sunday before Christmas.

Exclusion catalog

In the Sunday Trade Restriction Act A catalog of 32 exceptions is provided. The commercial ban does not include postal activity, if the revenues of this activity constitute at least 40% of the establishment’s sales revenues. In addition, it does not apply to pastry shops, ice cream parlors, liquid fuel stations, florists, newspaper shops and coffee shops.

For breaking the Sunday trade ban, the penalty ranges from PLN 1,000 to PLN 100,000. PLN penalty, and in case of persistent violation of provisions – a penalty of restriction of liberty.
