“star Wars”. However, Kevin Feige will not be directing the show
In 2019, the world was informed that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was set to make a movie set in the Star Wars universe. But as it turns out, he won’t. Or so says Variety.

The Star Wars cinematic universe is still in decline

while on the platform Disney + The Star Wars universe is evolving dynamically (the third season has just premiered “The Mandalorian”), the same cannot be said of the cinematic portion of this universe. “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” It premiered in December 2019. Before and after it hit theaters Lucasfilm Announce plans for future shows. However, none of them got out of the early development stage.

Currently, the first new Star Wars movie will be the one with a release date set for December 2025. But it is still not known who and what it will be in the show.

However, if Variety is to be believed, we know it won’t be directed by Kevin Feige. However, the portal claims that the project has been alive at LucasFilm for a long time. It was announced in 2019, and was still in development in 2022. Michael Waldron was hired to write the screenplay.“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”). Six months later, Feige hired him for another project – “Avengers: Secret Wars” (The premiere is planned for 2026). With Feige overseeing 20 MCU-related projects over the next four years, Variety doesn’t think it will make time for Star Wars this decade.

Variety claims there is also no chance of the announced announcement being implemented in 2020 Rogue Squadron. The film was supposed to hit theaters in December 2023, but its director, Patty Jenkins, was unable to begin shooting. Disney removed the project from its first calendar last year. Jenkins herself claims that she is still working on the plot, but has admitted that she does not think the movie will ever be made.

Then there is Rian Johnson. His project set in the Star Wars universe was announced in 2017. And although the director claims to this day that he wants to film it, and LucasFilm president Kathleen Kennedy argues that he wants to work with him, the project is no closer to completion today than it was. It six years ago. Besides, Johnson has other things on his mind now, like the third movie in the series Benoit Blanc Or the second season of the series “poker face”.

Taika Waititi and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy – Who’s Working on the Star Wars Cinematic Universe Right Now?

So what could hit theaters in 2025? There are three possibilities.

The first is a film directed by Taika Waititi. The details of the project are, of course, unknown. However, Variety claims that Waititi will not only direct everything, but also star in the show. Nor will it be Korg z “bull”but a more important character in the plot, such as Adolf from the movie “Jojo Rabbit”.

The second option is a film directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. The two-time Oscar winner with Disney has already had the opportunity to collaborate on the Marvel series “Ms. Marvel”. In the fall, Damon Lindelof was brought on to write the screenplay (“guards”) and Justin Brett Gibson (“the villain”).

The third option is a project we don’t know about yet, but it may be announced in London next month during the conference Star Wars Celebration.
