Ryanair and Brussels Airlines – flights canceled.  Strike is underway

Several hundred flights over Europe will be canceled this weekend. Brussels Airlines pilots and cabin crew have started a three-day strike since Thursday. Only for this reason, 315 of the 533 scheduled flights will not be carried out, which will affect 40,000 passengers. Irish employees of Ryanair have also started a three-day strike since Friday. The media estimates that about 300 flights of this carrier will be canceled.

Brussels Airlines workers protesting the workload and demanding higher wages. The carrier notes that the strike, which will run through Saturday, forced 60% of shares to cancel. flights.

As of Friday, Ryanair’s Belgian ground crew, which operates from Charleroi and Zaventem airports, are closed. According to the Irish carrier’s announcement, 127 flights were canceled on Sunday from that first airport. He did not say how many planes would not leave the capital’s airport, but the newspaper Het Laste-News estimates that there will be at least the same number of Charleroi.
