Ons Jabeur eloquently reported on Iga Świątek

Iga Świątek and Ons Jabeur meet in the semi-finals of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. Last season they played on both sides of the net twice and the Tunisian didn’t even win a set.

There is no doubt: Ons Jabeur wants revenge on Iga Świątek for two lost matches last year. The Polish woman turned out to be better in the final of the WTA tournament in Rome and in the final of the US Open. It was different at Wimbledon in 2021, when Jabeur defeated the Polish woman in three sets.

The Tunisian finished her quarter-final match much faster than her opponent, as she lost only three matches to Beatriz Haddad-Maia. Świątek spent more than two hours in court. Karolina Pliskova won the first set to succumb to the favorite in the next two, but there was a lot of fighting throughout the match.

Jabir, who did not yet know who she would play in the semi-finals, willingly told after the match about the possible rivalry with the Polish woman. – I play good tennis here. I just have to look better, because I know Iga doesn’t give up. The key is to be unpredictable. I will make it difficult for her to play.”

The good thing for me is that Iga is not playing at the same level as last year. I will focus on how to compete with her at Wimbledon.

Swiatek herself didn’t spare Jabir’s kind words. I don’t expect an easy match with her. I have to be ready for a different style of play. I’m happy to play in front of fans again and I can feel the emotions. I missed this. I can’t wait to play against the ounce.
