There is no trade ban on Sunday, April 10. This means that supermarkets and shopping centers will open. This is only the second Sunday trading in 2022. In two weeks, on Sunday, April 24, it will also be possible to shop in supermarkets.
In 2022 – as in 2021 – there are seven business Sundays. In April, the trade bans were not implemented on April 10 and April 24. Sunday, April 17, is Easter. On this day the stores will be closed.
Sunday trading ban – new regulations
from 1 february Changes to the Sunday trading ban are in effectthat sealed the rules. According to these rules, it is possible to open shops on non-commercial Sundays, which also provide postal services, if the revenue from this activity exceeds 40 percent of the revenue of a particular branch. According to the law of the Ministry of Finance, sales records must be kept separately for each commercial outlet, even if the entrepreneur has several such outlets.
Entrepreneurs may be fined from 1,000 to 100,000 PLN for breaching the trading ban on Sunday. From February 1, 2022, the same penalty will be applied to a person who does not keep records of the facility’s monthly income or keeps such record in a manner inconsistent with the provisions.
Sunday trading restrictions
The law that restricted Sunday trading has been in effect since March 1, 2018. At the beginning of each month – as a rule – there were two trading days – the first and the last. As of 2019, trading can be conducted one Sunday in a month – the last day. In 2020, the third stage of implementation of the ban began – there were to be seven trading days. In the end, the number of trading days in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, increased to eight.
