The first half is certainly frustrating, and both teams haven’t been able to create a proper procedure for the goal for long. Only in the 36th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo fell into the penalty area, but the referee ordered the match to continue. The summary of this part of the game can be the stats: zero shots on goal and one missed by a MU player.

In the second half, both teams fired more shots, but that didn’t translate into the situation. In the 50th minute, United created one good chance. Fred decided to shoot from distance, but Alphonse Areola put in well. However, in the following minutes, there were no adequate actions for the goal.

This changed only in the 88th minute. Thomas Soucek then hit the post right after a corner kick. After two minutes, the owners of the land had a chance. However, Areola coped with Cristiano Ronaldo’s shot.

The match seemed to end in a goalless draw, but Edinson Cavani ran on the goal line to Marcus Rashford in the third minute of stoppage time, who found himself scoring an empty goal. Thus, Manchester United won the whole match 1-0 and moved up to fourth place. West Ham are down to fifth, one point behind their rivals on Saturday.
