The Little Mermaid will hit Polish cinemas in May 2023. A new trailer has just surfaced online, which reveals more details and shows that Disney is working hard to bring the popular cartoon into the real world.
The Little Mermaid in the live-action version caused a lot of emotions from the very beginning – most of them related to the choice of actress who played Ariel. Halle Bailey in the title role is too controversial for many, for others a progressive-minded American actress. The first trailer was released only last year, and while it didn’t reveal much, for some it was already a signal to boycott production. But the creators do not take into account the words of criticism and prepare for the premiere. This will happen soon. The Little Mermaid will return to cinemas in May 2023.
Directed by musical specialist Bob Marshall, The Little Mermaid is a live-action version of Disney’s Academy Award-winning animated classic, hitting theaters May 26, 2023. This is a popular story of the beautiful, brave and adventurous mermaid Ariel – the youngest and most rebellious of Triton’s children – the King of the Seas and oceans. Her fascination with the human world brings her to the surface, where she meets and instantly falls in love with the handsome Prince Eric. Despite all the taboos, Ariel follows her heart and makes a pact with the insidious sea witch Ursula. Mermaid will be able to live on land, but the price will be very high.
During yesterday’s Academy Awards, Disney introduced its latest trailer that reveals a bit more than the first ad. And in it we get our first look at the other heroes: Ursula, King Triton, Prince Eric, and Ariel’s young friends – including Sebastian. There is also a new look for the underwater kingdom and scenes on the surface.

The trailer in the Polish version appeared for the first time on the Internet, where we can listen to the actors playing the main characters and part of the song “I really want”, which was performed by Beata Jankowska in the original Disney animation, in the Polish version. . Who is playing the famous characters this time around? The Polish distributor is still not disclosing specific names. In the original version, they play Halle Bailey, David Diggs, Awkwafina, Jonah Hauer King, Javier Bardem and Melissa McCarthy.
