The performer of the song Excuse me Bosses of the fast fashion brand said they did not ask for permission to sell the collection in his image.

“I do not endorse anything related to the products they sell at H&M… Everything was done without my permission or consent. If I were you, I would not buy it,” he wrote, before adding, “H&M’s commercial made from me sucks and I don’t approve of it. Don’t buy it.”

On Tuesday, the Swedish clothing company announced it was withdrawing from the collection.

Contacted by AFP, H&M announced it had withdrawn the entire range from sale “out of respect” for the artist.

“As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H&M has followed the appropriate approval procedures,” a spokesperson said in an email.

“But out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber we have removed the clothing from our stores and online,” he added.

H&M has worked with Justin Bieber for years on products that incorporate his name or tours.

The range currently on sale includes sweaters, t-shirts, phone accessories and canvas bags.
