Iga Świątek will play for huge money! It's just out of my mind

Wimbledon grew louder long before it even started. All due to the fact that the organizers made a sovereign decision to prevent the start of competitors from Russia and Belarus. This, of course, is the repercussions of the war in Ukraine. Their decisions were not applauded by the world authorities, who … “cut off” the prestigious championship from the world rankings.

However, this does not diminish the significance of the event. What’s more, apart from seeing an event win with such a rich tradition, the game will be played for more money than before. The organizers disclosed its amount. The sum of prizes will exceed 40 million pounds.

It is already known that Iga Świątek, in the event of winning the entire tournament, could earn up to 2 million pounds, i.e. 10.8 million PLN. For comparison – in the whole of 2022, it earned 27.6 million so far.

Participation in the final will be a bonus of 1.05 million pounds (5.6 million zlotys). Just participate in the additional first round 50 thousand pounds On a bank account (270,000 PLN).

Wimbledon begins on June 27 and ends on July 10. It is possible that Iga Świątek will start competing without any prior “friction” in the tournament on grass. She was supposed to take part in an event in Berlin (early 13 June), but withdrew from it.
