Women born between March and June 1956 have reason to be happy – the ZUS will pay them a higher pension. According to the Rzeczpospolita, the possibility of obtaining higher benefits results from changes in the regulations for open-ended pension funds and is a consequence of the lowering of the retirement age in 2017.
Women who receive the benefit have a chance to receive a higher benefit Periodic capital annuities. In order to receive additional funds, it is enough to submit an appropriate application to the ZUS.

– The office will recalculate pensions for all women who entered a periodically funded pension at the age of 60 and will turn 67 in 2023 – Dr. Tomasz Lasocki of the Faculty of Law and Management at the University of Warsaw told Rzeczpospolita.
However, he encouraged the expert to apply to ZUS in February, because the transfer was more favorable due to the indexing. The pension may be for women born between March 1 and June 30, 1956 higher by up to several percent.
Periodic capital pension – what is it?
The periodic capital pension is paid to women who were born after December 31, 1948 and:
- belong to an open-ended pension fund (OFE),
- have reached the age of 60 (the general retirement age for women),
- You have a fixed right to an old-age pension under the new rules,
- You have an amount of money kept in a ZUS subsidiary account, which (on the last day of the month preceding the month in which the woman received a pension under the new rules) is equal to or more than twenty times the nursing allowance.
The ZUS awards a periodic capital pension from the date on which the woman retires under the new rules, paid from the Social Insurance Fund (FUS). The periodic funded pension is paid together with the “normal” pension.
What do you have to do to get the periodic capital pension? You must have an appropriate amount of funds in the ZUS sub-account, which must be equal to or greater than twenty times the care allowance. This means that if this amount is less, the woman is not entitled to the allowance. From March 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023, the care allowance was 20 times the amount of PLN 5,128.80 (20 x PLN 256.44).
If the woman does not have enough funds in the subaccount, and for this reason she does not receive a funded pension periodically, the money from the subaccount will be added to the basis on which the ZUS calculates the pension from the Social Insurance Fund.
How long is the periodic capital pension due?
A woman is entitled to a periodic funded pension until the day before the day she reaches the general retirement age for men (ie 65 years). If the right expires early, on the day of reaching the age of 65, the ZUS will ex officio re-determine the amount of the old-age pension from the Social Insurance Fund.

Echo Richards embodies a personality that is a delightful contradiction: a humble musicaholic who never brags about her expansive knowledge of both classic and contemporary tunes. Infuriatingly modest, one would never know from a mere conversation how deeply entrenched she is in the world of music. This passion seamlessly translates into her problem-solving skills, with Echo often drawing inspiration from melodies and rhythms. A voracious reader, she dives deep into literature, using stories to influence her own hardcore writing. Her spirited advocacy for alcohol isn’t about mere indulgence, but about celebrating life’s poignant moments.
