In the age of popularity of directing releases, recently made available on a regular basis and more and more discussed in connection with various productions, it is time to present this topic in one of the most popular and well-known film series. Chris Columbus, director of the first two films about the adventures of a young wizard, recently spoke with the portal coiling About the director’s version Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s StoneWhich lasted about three hours (the cinema was 30 minutes shorter).
The first film in the series is a very faithful adaptation. Compared to other films, where a large portion of the scene had to be cut out in order to bring the volumes by J.K. Rowling onto the screen in a familiar way, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Contains most of the original materials. But in this case, some cuts were made, and as a result, the movie was completely removed from the fan-favourite, the evil villain Peeves, who haunts Hogwarts.. However, this was done after the scenes were filmed with him. Comedian Rick Mayall will play Peeves. Unfortunately, it was never shown in the movies, nor was it even included in the Ultimate Edition, which from the movie version was the soul for seven minutes.
Columbus talked about pre-screening shows in Chicago, during which they decided to check the audience for the film among the children and their parents. They were then shown a full three-hour version of the film, and while younger viewers reiterated their desire to see more, their parents said the film was too long.. It was decided to twist it, and finally almost half an hour of material was cut out.
During a conversation with the director, TheWrap reporters said that they would like to see the directed version of the first Harry Potter movie at some point, to which Columbus responded.:
