‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3’ with the first curse in the MCU?

Marvel Studios products are produced under the Disney banner, and are usually aimed at a wide audience. They are more akin to family cinema than R-rated productions, the jokes are relatively well mannered, the violence is subdued, and the sex is virtually absent.

The famous English word for “f” – depending on whether we use it as a verb or a noun – can be translated into Polish via the word “p” or the word “k”. A transformative invention certainly allows for a number of alternative options.

On the other hand, in The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 show, Groot may have been a swearer, but the fact that it was “I am Groot” somewhat mitigated the shocking dimension of that line of dialogue.

The “f” word is mentioned in one of the clips announcing “Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3”. (see above). Peter Quill, frustrated with Nebula’s inability to handle the car door handle, finally yells to her “Open the XXX door!”. Reps for Wake Up asked director James Gunn on Twitter and Instagram if the section wouldn’t be censored in the theatrical release. Gunn has confirmed that he will appear in the film:

We’ll see what’s next now that Marvel has already crossed the Rubicon. Just a reminder that Deadpool 3 is on the horizon, Marvel Studios’ first R-rated movie.
