Great Britain. They had an idea for a ‘parting gift’ for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. They were arrested

North Yorkshire Police said in a statement that they arrested four men on Tuesday on suspicion of entering the home of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The police added that the men are still in police custody for questioning and investigations are still ongoing.

Four men were arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of trespassing on property surrounding British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s private home in North Yorkshire, police said on Tuesday evening.

According to police, the four were arrested at around 12.40 local time, “within a minute of entering the building,” and then taken out of the house. The incident occurred while Sunak was in London to welcome the Emperor of Japan as he began his visit to the UK.

Police added that the arrested men – a 52-year-old from London, a 43-year-old from Bolton, a 21-year-old from Manchester and a 20-year-old from Chichester – remain in police custody for questioning and arrest. Police added that investigations are continuing.

A “farewell gift” to the Prime Minister

The detainees belong to the “Youth Demand” group, which calls for an arms embargo on Israel, and also calls on the government to withdraw new oil and gas licenses granted starting in 2021. The group published a video clip showing a young man entering the prime minister’s house and defecating in a lake.

As I wrote, the measure was a “parting gift” to the Prime Minister and the Conservative government. On July 4, the United Kingdom will hold elections for the House of Commons, in which, according to opinion polls, the Conservative Party is expected to suffer a severe defeat. A representative of the group said that three of the detainees were participating in the demonstration and the fourth person was a freelance photographer.

A similar incident occurred last summer when a group of climate activists climbed onto the roof of Sunak’s house and hung a banner demanding a halt to new oil exploration licences. The British Prime Minister was vacationing in California with his family at the time.
