Four television shows that are similar to Game of Thrones

1. Outlander

Spartacus was produced in New Zealand that premiered on Starz in January 2010 and concluded in April 2013. The show was inspired by a Thracian gladiator named Spartacus who led a slave uprising against the Roman Republic.

3. Black Sails

Black Sails are about pirates but they are very different from the pirates that you have seen in the Pirates of the Caribbean. The series was created by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine, starring Toby Stephens, Hannah New, Luke Arnold and Jessica Parker in the main roles.

The historical adventure television series is set in the early 18th century and is written to be a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island. The season is about Captain Flint (played by Toby Stephens) who is the leader of a band of swashbucklers. Flint, along with his crew member Long John Silver (portrayed by Luke Arnold) engage in a battle for New Providence Island.

The season was praised for its excellent characters, storytelling and world-building. There are many elements in Black Sails that Game of Thrones fans will immediately recognize and love. There is a magical woman named Moraine (who is played by Rosamund Pike) and her protector al’Lan Mandragoran (portrayed by Daniel Henney) who are also part of the mission.
