The folks over at
ReallyScary.com sat down with Craven to discuss the remake of his 1977 film, "The Hills Have Eyes". The interviewer threw a question out there about if we were going to see a remake of "Last House on the Left". Craven said,
Even though that responce is the same as maybe, it does bring hope to those who adore remakes of already masterpieces of the horror genre. Seriously, we really don't need a remake of "Last House on the Left", same with "The Hills Have Eyes". I'm not against the notion, I just think it's unnecessary. The original film had two girls being abducted by a gang of rapists and murderers who wind up, unknownly, at one of the girl's while her parents are there. It starred David Hess of "Zodiac Killer".
