Bred Fuller points out that a sequel was not part of the original Chainsaw plan at Platinum Dunes:
Although its most likely, that the first film’s star, Jessica Biel won’t be back for the prequel, the producers do hope to bring back other castmembers, like the return of R. Lee Ermey reprising his role as Sheriff Hoyt. In this prequel they also want to explain why Leatherface uses a chainsaw, and how his mask originated. You can read the whole interview here. The film is scheduled for a release October 2005. Next Halloween will really be a Cinema Horrormovie day. With other movies like the long anticipated "Land of the Dead" by George A. Romero, "The Second Line" and the remake of John Carpenter's "The Fog", there will really be a fight by the production companys for the audience. Source: Moviehole |
