Andrew Form and Brad Fuller talk Chainsaw Prequel !

Andrew Form Confirmed: 

"It is a prequel. Hopefully Halloween next year it will be released—that’s our date. We’re going to go backwards, obviously, a couple of years, trying to answer questions about the character. That one’s happening fast. Faster than I thought."

Bred Fuller points out that a sequel was not part of the original Chainsaw plan at Platinum Dunes:

"We certainly put ourselves in a box when we cut off Leatherface’s arm at the end of that movie. There was no talk of ever doing another Chainsaw movie."

Although its most likely, that the first film’s star, Jessica Biel won’t be back for the prequel, the producers do hope to bring back other castmembers, like the return of R. Lee Ermey reprising his role as Sheriff Hoyt.

In this prequel they also want to explain why Leatherface uses a chainsaw, and how his mask originated.

The film is scheduled for a release October 2005.

Next Halloween will really be a Cinema Horrormovie day. With other movies like the long anticipated "Land of the Dead" by George A. Romero, "The Second Line" and the remake of John Carpenter's "The Fog", there will really be a fight by the production companys for the audience.
