Update on Return of the Living Dead 4 & 5 MoviePosted by:Fangoria recently did a special feature on Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis and ROTLD Rave from the Grave. Shooting is taking place on the infamous toxic waste dump that is Chernobyl. It is well known as the site of the worst nuclear-power disaster in history. On April 25, 1986, Reactor No. 4 was being tested when a huge chain-reaction meltdown created a fireball that blew off its heavy steel-and-concrete lid. Thirty people died immediately, and the resulting high radiation levels meant 135,000 were evacuated within a 20-mile radius.
The producer, Anatoly Fradis, quickly acknowledges that they mean no disrespect to those who died that day and that they are just there to shoot a film. "I understand the sensitivity that still exists regarding the disaster," Fradis quickly points out."It’s not our intention to be offensive and invade the privacy or insult the memory of those who died. But we are making two horror fantasies that have nothing to do with reality. And we are not filming where any deaths actually occurred." The good news is that the first film Necropolis is 75% done and Rave is about 25% done. The zombies in this flick sound very odd but we'll have to see how they turn out. John Vulich is the FX guy who will be creating the creatures commented about the look of the zombies for the film.
Chainsaws? Terminator like? Well anyways as you probably already know the crew has been going threw hell trying to film this movie. They aren't allowed to touch anything organic due to high radioactive levels. Right now the plan is to release the films Kill Bill style at about 6 months apart in 2005. Warner Bros. will be the first company the film will be submitted to.. whether or not they will release it is another story. Source: Fangoria
