Zach Braff's Last Kiss for Scrubs?

Posted by: Jerrica

The star of NBC's hit sitcom "Scrubs" may be leaving the small screen behind for the big one. Braff himself has said to Premiere Magazine that the upcoming sixth season just might be his last. After Braff's writing and directing triumph "Garden State" with Natalie Portman in 2004, the silver screen has been calling to the 31-year-old star. He has been nominated for an Emmy as well as two Golden Globes for his role as J.D. on "Scrubs," and he won a Grammy for the soundtrack he compiled for "Garden State." The film also earned an Independent Spirit Award as well as critical acclaim for Braff as a breakthrough talent.

For "Scrubs," losing Braff would be a devastating blow to the series' survival as well as its brilliant formula. This is to say nothing of how the entire premise has always revolved around Braff's lovable character, John Dorian, especially as his inner monologue comprises many key elements in its simultaneously hilarious and poignant format. Hollywood.com quoted Braff from what he told Premiere: "Whether or not they continue without me, I don't know. I have had this amazing run on the show and I love it and I'm so grateful, but I want to make movies full time." But, with "Last Kiss" on its way and set to create solid buzz around Braff's performance and future as a movie star, it's easy to see why the television star is ready to expand his horizons into cinema.
