Riptide The Complete First Season on DVD September 26th

From creator Stephen J. Cannell (TV’s "Hunter," "The A Team") comes the detective series Riptide: The Complete First Season, debuting on DVD September 26 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Starring Perry King (The Day After Tomorrow), Joe Penny (TV’s "Jake and the Fatman") and Thom Bray (John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness), along with notable guest stars including Academy Award® winner Geena Davis (The Accidental Tourist, TV’s "Commander in Chief"), Kelly Preston (Sky High, Jerry Maguire), Anne Francis (Forbidden Planet, TV’s "Honey West"), Marsha Warfield (TV’s "Night Court"), Deborah Shelton (Body Double, TV’s "Dallas"), and Stepfanie Kramer (TV’s "Hunter"), the three-disc boxed set features all 13 episodes from the series’ action-packed first season. The DVD will be priced at $39.95.

Riptide made its debut as a mid-year replacement series on NBC January 3, 1984, and ran for 54 episodes over three seasons. On the show, three Vietnam War buddies – Cody, Nick and Murray (King, Penny and Bray) – are now working as private eyes in sunny Southern California and base their detective business out of Cody’s sleek schooner, The Riptide. While Nick and Cody supply the muscle, Murray is the computer wiz and resident genius whose wild inventions alternately help or hinder the trio’s baffling, and sometimes wacky, cases.
