The Prestige Trailer Revealed

What could be a better unintentional undercurrent to a movie than Batman versus Wolverine? Well, "The Prestige" certainly isn't a comic book crossover, but Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman square off in a great and perilous rivalry between the two most renowned magicians of their time. Set in London at the turn of the 19th Century, director Christopher Nolan ("Batman Begins" and "Memento") bring his brilliantly dark lens to the world of magic. The script was co-written by Christopher and his brother Jonathan Nolan. Jonathan wrote the short story upon which Christopher's acclaimed film "Memento" starring Guy Pearce was based.

In addition to the film stars who moonlight as on-screen comic heroes, Bale and Jackman, the movie also features Oscar-winner Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, and none other than David Bowie as Nikola Tesla, the genius engineer and inventor who is regarded as one of the greatest scientists in history. All of the characters are swept up in the storm as the friendship between Alfred Borden (Bale) and Rupert Angier (Jackman) turns to a bitter play for supremacy and the opening of a Pandora's box of tricks.

Now that the trailer is online, you can see that the grim tension this story holds looks more explosive than any synopsis could tell.
