Michelle Monaghan, from Cruise's Mission to Stiller's ItchPosted by: JerricaBobby and Peter Farrelly have claimed a star on the rise for their next big comedy, "Seven Day Itch," a revisiting of "The Heartbreak Kid." Michelle Monaghan was last seen on the big screen opposite Tom Cruise as superspy Ethan Hunt's fiance in "Mission: Impossible III." Now she'll be enticing Ben Stiller as the beautiful stranger who gives him the old seven year itch after only seven days of marriage. It's effectively the Marilyn Monroe role from the classic film "The Seven Year Itch" with the infamous skirt-blowing scene. There may not be any controversial skirt-blowing scene for Monaghan, but she will be the one to tempt the newlywed groom on his honeymoon, and with the Farrellys at the helm, it's sure to be a situational riot. While Monaghan has come aboard to play the movie's temptress, the part of Stiller's bride is yet to be cast. Monaghan has appeared on the TV shows "Young Americans, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," and had a recurring role on "Boston Public," and you may also recognize her from the films "Unfaithful," "The Bourne Supremacy," and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." Having reached a good high in action roles with "MI3," Monaghan seems ready to try her hand at comedy and she's wisely chosen the Farrelly Brothers latest project to do it. |
