The Howling Remake?

According to our comrades at HorrorMovies.ca a remake of The Howling is in the pipes. I have to this day not seen this movie and i am sure alot of you die hard horror fans are rolling over in your chairs asking HOW on earth I have not seen this film. I hear its really great. According to HM.ca Joe Dante says this flick is going ahead, quote:
"They are definitely going to do it, because people keep calling me asking about who owns the rights to it."
