On Friday Kevin Smith announced that he is planning a sequel to Clerks! This is definetely the best news I have heard this week. Brian O' Halloran, Jeff Anderson, and Jason Mewes are all coming back for the sequel.
The story will take place 10 years after the first film. Kevin Smith puts the film in perspective, "It's about what happens when that lazy, 20-something malaise lasts into your 30s," says Smith. "Those dudes are kind of still mired, not in that same exact situation, but in a place where it's time to actually grow up and do something more than just sit around and dissect pop culture and talk about sex. It's: What happened to these dudes?"
With the Clerks 10th Anniversary DVD coming out on September 7th Kevin Smith said that working on it got him thinking about doing a sequel. The title will be "Passion of The Clerks" and will begin shooting in Janurary Miramax will once again distribute his film like they have all of his previous pictures.
This is really good news but it also means that Smith will most defintely not be directing "Green Hornet".
