Land of the Dead Movie: DVD SurprisesPosted by:Turn on the commentary when you watch the 2004 Divimax edition of Romero's classic Dawn of the Dead and you'll hear George and his wife/assistant director Chris discussing the possibility of filming in Pittsburgh. They mention that the original script was written to be shot in Pittsburgh, in another area owned by the same people who owned the Monroeville Mall in Dawn. Land of the Dead would have taken place largely around the 5th tallest skyscraper in Pittsburgh, One Oxford Center. It's a beautiful building located in a great city. It's too bad for us, but the powers that be in Pittsburgh didn't make this happen and Toronto gets to host one of the most exciting productions ever.
Soure: Daniel Ward, thanks for the email!
