Tinkerbell sounds like Brittany MurphyPosted by: ShawnGood news, everyone. Disney is taking another of their classics and squeezing all the money making possibilities out of it. What has all the recent Barbie Merchandise taught them recently? Fairies are the way to go...I guess. And who is a famous Disney fairy? (Stop expecting an actor slam here. I'm not taking the bait on this one). Tinkerbell. The famous "Peter Pan" character will be getting her own movie in the fall of 2007. And as usual, instead of sticking with age-old Disney traditions, Tinkerbell will remain silent for no longer. Actress Brittany Murphy (Little Black Book, Sin City) is being brought on to provide the voice for the pixie who has before this never spoken a word within a Disney production. Other main-stream Hollywood actors are expected to fill in the roles of Tinkerbell's fairy friends as they round out the population of Pixie Hollow in the new CGI film, cleverly titled, "Tinkerbell".
The film is expected to make it to theaters in late 2007, but that seems unlikely. Call me crazy but usually a decent animated feature (even CGI) takes at least two years or more to complete. If they are doing a rush job on "Tinkerbell" I think the first place kids are going to see it is in their DVD players. But this is usual for Disney who are infamous for their direct-to-video feature films that are usually sub-par sequels to their past animated theatrical releases. It's called the money train and it pulls into the station at least a few times every year.
