Mozart & The Whale Movie

As none of you know, I have Asperger's Syndrome. AS was only recently put into the medical rulebooks ('94), even though its been diagnosed since 1950. Anyhow, this being a mental disorder, Hollywood was sooner or later going to find out that it existed.

What's the first thing they do? Cast Josh Hartnett. But, from the looks of the trailer, he's right for the job. It's not that Hartnett is a bad actor, its that he has been put in bad stuff. I await his acting job in Sin City.

Anyhow. The movie looks like it has only two good things going for it: Hartnett, and the fact that it actually portrays Asperger's as it truly is, and not some sacharrine-injected life-altering "disease" (one of the most offending things is- ok, two of the most offending things about AS are: 1) people often mistake it for a disease 2) people feel the need to "treat you like everyone else"- like you're not or something). Now, will this become a saccharine-injected lovefest? It could go either way.

The trailer shows A LOT of Hollywood-ized fluff, and the soundtrack (all about love and understanding) needs to go.
