Transformers teaser on July 4th

It won't be long now. The folks behind the live-action "Tranformers" movie will soon be giving us something to tide us over until there is enough completed footage for an official trailer. The first teaser for the film will hit the official "Transformers" website on July 4th. And for those of you who would wish to see the teaser on the big-screen you will get your chance on July 7th when it plays just before "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest".

 

What should we expect in the teaser? This early in production I'm not expecting much as far as special effects to be completed. If anything we'll be seeing something specially made for the teaser that likely won't end up in the movie at all. Perhaps it will be a shot of a mundane looking car, the camera will go to black, the traditional sound effect associated with tranformers changing will play, and when the screen cuts back the car is gone. Then maybe a robotic foot clomps down onto the pavement. End of teaser.

 

Movies like this they can afford to show you as little as possible and still somehow get you super excited. Anyone remember when "5th Element" came out? The first trailer was only a huge looking number 5 that was floating in space? Absolutely nothing to do with the movie at all, but the epic-grandness of it still made you wet your pants? Well expect that here. It's a cheap thrill, but we need our "fix".
